GENERATIVE SCRIBING

''...a two-dimensional social art that helps systems see and sense their reality and potential.''

from www.u-school.org

WHY?

Because it's possible to develop the conversation further

When we are deeply touched in our emotions, real changes occur.

Our brain processes images and words differently.

I am convinced that the art of generative scribing has the power to deeply touch us.

THE ROLE OF DRAWING

Generative scribing is a drawing tool that helps you to understand a subject and to better grasp other people's points of view as a conversation unfolds. *By integrating content, prompting insight and aiding with decision-making, its facilitates group learning and communal memory. (*inspired by www.u-school.org)

Generative scribing can help the discussion evolve towards other perspectives, or provide a new understanding of the issue at hand.

It helps you to generate discussion around even the most sensitive or tense subjects.

It makes participants feel that they are truly being heard. It can uncover solutions and ideas that have remained unspoken. The drawing becomes a posteriori reference, a reference that can breathe new life into discussion and create space for inclusion of diverse experiences and personal perspectives and opinions.

SCRIBE'S ROLE

I draw the ideas expressed during your meeting (workshop, post-mortem, decision-making issues, strategic planning, etc.) in real time. I transfer the various points of view onto paper without judgment. The simultaneous transfer of the ideas discussed into visual language gives participants an immediate reflection of the subject under discussion.

When I scribe, I capture nuances in tone, body language, facial expression, energy and reactions of the group.

'' It's not what you say, it's how you say it.''

SERVICES

I draw on site using a mobile graphic wall (13' wide x 4' high).

The mobility of the wall allows for the specific choice of a position that facilitates interaction with the participants.

A preparation meeting is held to define the objectives of the future work session.

You leave with the drawing as an artifact of the meeting.
